Today marks the beginning of what many hope will be a new tradition at RHS ~ a day of service. Instead of just a day off, over 150 students and staff members gathered early this morning at RHS hoping to make a difference ~ and that they did. With the help of PTSO President, Mrs. Stifelman and officers, Mrs. Keane and Mrs. Russo, our students engaged in all types of activities and did so with lots of smiles. We hosted our senior citizens for bingo, assisted at the Cerebral Palsy School of NJ, worked with Special Olympic athletes, shared vocal and jazz talent, attended a program at the Interfaith Food Pantry, worked with residents at Homeless Solutions, bagged at the Acme, entertained seniors at Sunrise House etc. etc. I could not be more proud of our students and staff members for not only understanding the benefits of giving back but also for living it. The day was a HUGE success and we are already beginning plans for next year! We would also like to thank Mayor Chris Carey and Board of Education member Mrs. MacKay for joining us today ~ it was a pleasure to have them with us for this service event. A few pics….
