Dear Class of 2020;

I would like to once again welcome the Class of 2020 and remind you about freshman orientation scheduled for August 18th , 19th  and 22nd from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day. Each incoming freshman will attend one of those days and get a chance to meet with the senior tomorrow’s leaders, participate in team building and walk through the building with their schedules. This is a great opportunity for all of our newest RAMS and I strongly urge you to attend.  If you have not received the paperwork to sign up for orientation, please contact the high school office and we will be sure to get it to you.

RHS will also be open for tours on August 24th from 9-12 noon and August 31st from noon to 3 p.m. and on September 2nd from 9 a.m. to noon. These tours are optional and tomorrow’s leaders will be available to assist.

Schedule change information has been sent through the guidance department. There is a website to visit: HSCounselingServices@rtnj.org where you can leave your information regarding requested changes.  Our counselors will begin inputting changes on August 1st.  Final schedules will be available via Genesis later in August.  Please stay tuned for further announcements.

Each freshman will receive an agenda on the first day of school. After freshman year, we will order an agenda for any student who wishes to continue using that method of record keeping.

Our high school website contains a plethora of information and is available at anytime. If you need assistance, please do not hesitate to contact the high school as we are available all summer.

My blog will hopefully  give you an overview of high school life and our focus both past and present.  Please feel free to come back often!

The freshman parent night has been scheduled for September 1st with more information to follow. Students will meet with tomorrow’s leaders and learn about high school clubs and activities while parents meet with the administrative team. Please save the date!

Your 9th grader is about to begin an incredible journey and the next four years will go quicker than you could ever imagine.  Please take advantage of all that RHS has to offer ~ it is one amazing high school.  I look forward to greeting you personally on September 1st!

See you soon!

All schools in our district have been working to enhance our security procedures specifically as they relate to active shooter/violent intruder events.  All parents were invited to a presentation regarding what these enhancements will look like.  It is our plan to provide another opportunity for parents to learn more about A.L.I.C.E. with a repeat evening presentation early in September ~ please stay tuned for a date and time.  There can be no greater priority than the health and safety of our students and staff.

Our efforts are being recognized nationally at the National School Safety Advocacy Conference in Orlando, FL on July 27th, 2016.  Stay tuned for additional information.

All high school teachers participated in an interdisciplinary building wide professional learning community throughout this past school year.  Each group shared their action plan moving in to the 2016-17 school year with goals they wish to accomplish.  The collaboration was evident as these staff members came together around enhancements they are passionate about undertaking here at RHS.  We are so very proud of the work our teachers are able to accomplish.  GO RAMS!
