If you follow my blog then you know just how excited I am by this weather in March 🙂 Usually we are worried about that one last big snow storm during March but it seems as if we may just get lucky. After those 30+ inches I was worried that we would be buried in the white stuff for a long time. I love being pleasantly surprised!
The winter season was a successful one here at RHS. We had outstanding athletic accomplishments, fabulous showcases of student talent, musical and choral performances, academic excellence awards, debate and forensic honors, overnight competitions for various co-curricular clubs and so on. If you were able to attend one or more of our events then you know exactly what I’m talking about. We have amazing students and an incredibly supportive school community.
The spring season has started on a warm note and hopefully will continue with sunny skies. Stay tuned to the website for information on all of our games, concerts, plays etc.
The security training continues with all six district school buildings. You can expect to hear more about this from each building as we move closer to the end of the year. Creating a safe environment for our staff and students remains a top priority.
Our benchmarks will take place prior to the spring break. PARCC and AP testing will take place after we return. The high school is currently beginning the master scheduling process and will hopefully have initial schedules to everyone in late June or early July.
Student focus group meetings will continue with the next one in March. Our student body is great about sharing their honest thoughts and opinions about all aspects of life here at RHS and we use their feedback to continually enhance what we do. Likewise, a planning committee consisting of teachers and administrators meets monthly to prioritize and create action plans to determine our direction as a high school. These meetings are vital to creating an environment of collaboration and cooperation.
Happy Spring everyone 🙂
